Reduced opening hours for local gym

Archived press release

Date Published: 02/05/08

Aylesbury Vale District Council has had to temporarily reduce the opening hours of the Reflex Gym in Winslow due to staff vacancies.

The gym, located at the Winslow Centre in Park Road, will close on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 12 May. However, the venue will remain open on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and on Friday mornings between 9am and 12pm.

Councillor David Thompson, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “We apologise for the inconvenience and reduction in service that will be experienced by our many loyal customers. We are continuing to seek to recruit appropriately experienced and qualified gym instructors and will hopefully be in a position to operate the venue as per usual to include Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the very near future.”

The Reflex Gym contains a range of resistance and cardio vascular equipment designed to cater for all fitness needs and operates on a ‘pay and play’ basis – there are no joining fees or monthly direct debits. Prices range from £3.50 for adults to £1.50 for concessions.

If you wish to be considered for employment as a gym instructor at the Reflex Gym, please visit the council’s website at www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk or call 01296 585020 to request an application pack.
