Activities will include litter-picking and pruning back shrubbery
People in Coldharbour are being encouraged to get involved in a ‘community action day’ on 27 September to help clean up litter and graffiti hotspots.
The clean-up event, organised by the Aylesbury Vale Community Safety Partnership, will see council and police officers, firefighters and other frontline public services swoop on Fowler Road and the surrounding area.
Activities are set to include litter-picking, pruning back shrubbery and removing graffiti from walls. Residents can also raise any issues and concerns with officers during a surgery at the Tesco Express in Fowler Road between 10am and 2pm.
The event follows the success of a similar crackdown in the Gatehouse area last year which resulted in 20 bags of litter lifted from verges and open spaces.
Nigel Brooke, Chairman of the Community Safety Partnership, said: “We’re inviting local residents to come and get involved and help make Coldharbour a better place. Bringing the community together to help clean up should give local people a great sense of achievement in improving their area for all the residents.”
Everyone is invited to join in the event; it starts at 10am at the Tesco Express in Fowler Road. Equipment for the clean up, such as litter pickers, gloves and bags will be provided and there will also be refreshments available.
