Win a scholarship at the University of Buckingham
A free scholarship on a unique degree programme in Buckinghamshire is up for grabs in an exciting new competition.
Aylesbury Vale District Council has teamed up with the University of Buckingham to offer a budding businessman or woman the chance to study for an honours degree in business enterprise.
The two-year scholarship, worth over £17,000, is part of AVDC’s programme to encourage entrepreneurs and small business growth.
The successful candidate will have the chance to start and run their own business at the same time as they study a range of business subjects that will help develop their entrepreneurship, business and innovation skills.
Applicants keen to win the scholarship must be a resident of Aylesbury Vale and be able to demonstrate why they need to be considered for the course.
In order to apply, applicants must submit a business plan to the University of Buckingham Business School by 31 July. The short listed candidates will be invited to pitch their proposal to the “Buckingham Angels” venture capital panel during the university’s Enterprise Day on 9 September.
Nigel Adams, Programme Director at the University of Buckingham Business School, said: “This is a marvellous and unique opportunity for a budding businessman or woman to start up and run their own business and achieve an honours degree.
“I’m sure whoever is selected to take up the scholarship will benefit enormously from the Business Enterprise programme. It really is very generous of AVDC to make this experience possible.
“I would encourage potential candidates to send in their applications early to make sure they don’t miss the deadline.”
