Your chance to meet members of the Community Safety Partnership

Your chance to meet members of the Community Safety Partnership

People in Aylesbury Vale are being given a new way to directly voice concerns about community safety issues affecting their local communities.

The first “Ask: Community Safety” sessions will be taking place at the Community Safety Information shop in Hale Leys Shopping Centre, Aylesbury, next week, allowing local people to meet representatives of the Aylesbury Vale Community Safety Partnership (AVCSP).

People can raise concerns about anything from littering to dog fouling, vandalism to speeding motorists – and there will be someone there to listen and help decide on a course of action.

Ask: Community Safety is a new initiative of the AVCSP, to encourage public participation in finding solutions to local problems.

Partnership members will also be able to highlight action being taken in relation to the area’s identified community safety priorities. Free refreshments will be available.

“This is a great chance for local people to meet key figures in the partnership, and understand how we all work together”, explains AVCSP Chairman, Matt Partridge. “It’s an opportunity to ask questions or voice concerns about crime and disorder, drugs, anti social behaviour, and violence, and I hope lots of residents will come along to discover more about community safety initiatives in our district.”

The Ask: Community Safety sessions will take place at the Community Safety Information shop between 14 and 18 December. The timetable is as follows:

• Monday 14 December - Deborah Taylor, Bucks PCT, 10am to 12.30pm
• Tuesday 15 December - Christine Bunce, Youth Offending Service, 10am to 12.30pm; Richard List, Thames Valley Police, 12.30pm to 3pm
• Wednesday 16 December – Councillor Pam Pearce, AVDC, 12.30pm to 3pm
• Thursday 17 December - Matt Partridge, Head of Communities at AVDC, 10am to 12.30pm; Susie Yapp, Buckinghamshire County Council, 12.30pm to 3pm
• Friday 18 December - Phil Dart, Buckinghamshire County Council, 12.30pm to 3pm
