Refuse and recycling crews go ahead today - 3 February
Archived press release
Date Published: 03/02/09
AVDC’s refuse and recycling crews are back on the road today. There may be some side roads or pavements which are too icy but the crews will make every effort to collect both refuse and recycling from as many homes as possible.
Residents are asked to be patient and leave their bins and baskets out for the day as the icy conditions will mean that the rounds will take longer than usual.
Some homes did not have their collection yesterday because of the weather conditions. If possible, the crews will re-visit these places today so residents who were missed are asked to leave their bins and baskets out for the rest of the day. However, any Monday or Tuesday refuse not collected by the end of today will be collected next week as usual.
Any recycling material not collected by the end of the today will not be collected until the next due date. The council would like apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes to residents who may wish to instead use the recycling banks placed at various locations across the district.
Information about refuse and recycling collections is displayed on our website together with the list of recycling bank locations. Any news about collections can be found here on the home page of our website.
Please note that if you call the refuse line on 01296 585510 you will be held in a queue and it may take some time to answer your call due to the sheer number of calls.
