Fun-filled play day at Bedgrove Park

Archived press release

Date Published: 24/07/09

Children and young people across Aylesbury are being urged to join in this year’s Play in Park event which takes place at Bedgrove Park on Wednesday 5 August.

From 11am to 3pm, the Aylesbury park will host activities including arts and crafts, sports, circus skills and Umbanda drumming. There will also be inflatables, giant games and a Wild West play area.

In addition, young people aged 13 to 19 will be able to take part in activities including a climbing wall, sound studio and dance sessions.

Admission is free, though there may be a small charge for some of the activities. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Play in the Park is organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council each year to celebrate National Play Day. This year’s event is being held at Bedgrove Park due to improvement works taking place at Vale Park.

Play Day is the largest annual celebration of play in the country and thousands of children are expected to take part in similar events across the UK.

Councillor David Thompson, Cabinet Member for Leisure at AVDC, said: “Play in the Park has always been popular in previous years and this year we have an excellent programme of activities for the whole family to enjoy. This event is about celebrating play and we want as many families as possible to come along. I’m sure a great time will be had by all.”
