Thousands of new homes will be built in Aylesbury Vale
Aylesbury Vale District Council's plans for thousands more houses, jobs and other growth in Aylesbury Vale have moved a step closer.
The plans – embodied in the Core Strategy – have been submitted to the government for the final decision to be taken in 2010.
The submission of the Core Strategy is the final step in a long process, which has been subject to several rounds of public consultation since 2006 and will now be subject to scrutiny at an Examination in Public before an independent government-appointed inspector in February next year.
AVDC received thousands of comment forms, letters and emails in response to this summer's Proposed Submission Core Strategy publication, and officers have compiled a summary of these responses.
The summary and original comments are available to view at the 66 High Street offices in Aylesbury and will be available on the council’s website (www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/ldf) so everyone can see the range of issues raised. Everyone who chose to comment at this stage in the process will also receive a letter informing them of the submission.
The independent planning inspector is expected to hold a pre-examination meeting in December, taking place in Aylesbury, and will go through the likely timetable and process for the February examination.
Councillor Carole Paternoster, Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning at AVDC, said: “The Core Strategy is a very important document as it lays out how Aylesbury Vale will develop in the next 20 years. Residents, community groups and organisations took a lot of time submitting comments to us on the draft document, and we thank them for taking part in the process. The government inspector will now decide the final format of the strategy before it becomes the planning policy for the district some time next year.”
