Fundraising training will help groups seeking grants

Archived press release

Date Published: 02/10/09

Voluntary and community groups are being offered training and support through a series of training events.

Organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council, the training programme is designed to get organisations into shape to bid for funding and to help steer them through the labyrinthine exercise of securing grant money.

The training courses will cover a variety of topics including writing a successful grant application, raising funds from trusts and foundations and compiling a fundraising strategy.

Councillor John Cartwright, Leader of the Council, said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer this training to representatives of community and voluntary groups. It is an excellent opportunity for them to be able to develop the essential skills needed to secure grant funding.”

The courses are open to any voluntary or community sector organisation including registered charities, equalities groups, sport and youth groups and environmental action groups. Social enterprises and representatives from parish and town councils can also attend.
