Shoppers and visitors in need of relief in Aylesbury town centre can now “take a seat” in the newly opened Anchor Lane toilets.

The new public loos, located opposite Wilkinson’s, feature some of the very latest technology to ensure that using them is a pleasant experience.

These much-needed facilities have been provided by Aylesbury Vale District Council as part of its plans to make the town centre as user friendly as possible.

The new block has three cubicles – one male, one female and one for disabled people. All of the cubicles have baby-changing facilities to make life easier for parents

The male and female cubicles are free to use whilst disabled users can gain free access by way of their Radar Key. The disabled cubicle is also available to all users for a small payment of 20p

The new toilets feature special hygiene programmes:
• There’s an automatic flush if someone forgets to flush when they leave
• The toilet seat is cleaned between every use – it turns through a jet of disinfected water and is dried between each use
• The floor can be washed between uses, to remove muddy footprints, any spills and small items of litter.

Councillor Kevin McPartland, Cabinet Member for Civic Amenities at AVDC, said: “I am pleased that the new facilities are now open for use and that they are of a high quality. These toilets are ideally situated and will be a welcome asset to the town.”

The Anchor Lane toilets are open from 7am to 7pm every day.
