The temporary Canalside Extension Car Park in Aylesbury will permanently close on Monday 5 October in preparation for the development of an attractive new public space in front of the Waterside Theatre currently being built in Exchange Street.
The Canalside Rear car park will not be affected and other alternative car parks are available throughout the town centre, including Exchange Street, Hampden House and Walton Street.
Councillor Kevin McPartland, Cabinet Member for Civic Amenities, said: “The exciting new theatre project is well on its way and it has now reached the phase of the development that necessitates the permanent closure of Canalside Extension Car Park. We are confident that the closure of this car park will not cause too many problems for motorists. With the provision of the new Walton Street Car Park we have ensured there is an adequate supply of parking spaces within the town for both workers and shoppers.”
