Families invited to celebrate National Play Day

Archived press release

Date Published: 26/07/10

Children and young people in Aylesbury will be celebrating National Play Day on Wednesday 4 August.

The free event organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council is from 11am until 3pm at Vale Park, and is open to all youngsters aged three upwards, along with their parents or guardians.

National Play Day is the UK’s biggest annual celebration of play with an estimated 100,000 children expected to attend fun-packed events throughout the country.

Vale Park will be hosting a variety of activities with a Hawaiian theme including sports, crafts, face painting, circus skills and Umbanda drumming. There will also be inflatables, a surf simulator, climbing wall and Hawaiian beach play area.

Most activities are free but there is a small charge for some. Bring a picnic and stay all day.

The only condition on attending this event is that all adults must be accompanied by at least one child!

National Play Day is just one of the events being delivered by the play team over the summer. For more information, visit or call 01296 585188.
