The county council will be responsible for all bus pass renewals

The way in which concessionary bus passes are to be managed is changing.

The government has decided that responsibility for the National Concessionary Travel Scheme (bus passes) for older people and people with disabilities should move from district councils to county councils (i.e from AVDC to Buckinghamshire County Council) from 1 April 2011.

AVDC will soon be sending out renewal letters to customers whose concessionary bus passes are due to expire between 31 March and 30 June 2011.

Bus pass holders should check their name and address details are correct and return the signed tear off strip to AVDC. If your details are not correct, please provide the correct details on the tear off strip and return it to AVDC promptly.

All enquiries regarding new passes and new applications will be referred to Buckinghamshire County Council from 6 March 2011.

Buckinghamshire County Council will be operating a postal application process and AVDC will have forms available at its offices. The county council will be responsible for all bus pass renewals from July 2011 onwards.
