The school summer holidays are here and Aylesbury Vale District Council has a packed programme of events and activities lined up to keep children and young people fully entertained.
The Do-it summer holiday brochure is crammed with sporting activities, arts and crafts, special events and much more.
Activities run throughout the summer and include both indoors and outdoors events so whatever the weather there is something on offer. Some activities require to be booked in advance so check the programme carefully.
The exciting activities on offer this year range from musical theatre dance sessions and parkour to model animation and stunt fighting, as well as sports such as basketball, cricket, tennis and golf.
The mobile play teams will be visiting villages across the Vale, bringing bouncy castles, giant games, face painting and crafts to recreation grounds and sports fields. Sessions are for children up to the age of 11 and will take place either in the morning (10am to 12.30pm) or afternoon (2pm to 4.30pm).
There’ll also be a range of free sport, arts and play activities in Buckingham, Winslow, Waddesdon, Haddenham, Wendover and Wing as part of the Family Fun Fridays programme. No booking is required, just turn up and play.
To celebrate National Play Day, the council’s popular annual free event Play in the Park returns to Aylesbury on Wednesday 3 August. The park will be filled with a range of activities, including a surf simulator, inflatables, circus skills, sports, and a drumming workshop. There’ll be something for everyone, from tiny tots to teenagers to enjoy.
And don’t forget to check out the fantastic fun-filled programme of Aylesbury town centre events this summer including six Saturdays of free entertainment at the Aylesbury Street Festival, starting 23 July.
The Do-it summer booklet is available through schools, libraries, leisure centres, tourist information centres and various other outlets across the district. For more information, visit www.aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk/doit or call 01296 585301.
