Aylesbury Vale will be hosting its own version of the Olympics this spring and summer as young people battle for gold, silver and bronze on games consoles.

The Aylesbury Vale Digital Games will be touring the district between April and June, giving young people the chance to take part in a pentathlon competition on the Nintendo Wii featuring Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The virtual tournament will take place at various youth clubs, centres and cafes across the district. Each club and venue that takes part will be able to submit a team to compete in the final with prizes on offer for individual gold, silver and bronze winners, as well as a prize for the overall winning club or venue.

The final will be held as part of Play in the Park on 1 August at Vale Park in Aylesbury.

The Aylesbury Vale Digital Games project is supported by Aylesbury Vale District Council, Aylesbury Vale Youth for Christ, Aylesbury Youth Action, Action4Youth, Community Impact Bucks I-Van project and Buckinghamshire County Council Youth Services.
