Key Development in Aylesbury Vale

The need for Major Development Areas (MDAs)

The MDAs are identified in the Aylesbury Vale District Local Plan (AVDLP) and were examined at the public inquiry which finished on 1st June 2001. The first part of the report of the inquiry Inspector, which includes consideration of the MDA’s, was published in August 2002, and proposed modifications to AVDLP were published for public consultation in September 2003. AVDLP was adopted in January 2004.

Much of this development will take place in Aylesbury where three MDAs are proposed. Other large developments are proposed in Buckingham, Winslow, Wendover and Haddenham.
