Local validation list

New legislation covering the receipt, validation and registration of planning applications came into effect on 6 April.

All planning applications must now be made using the national standard planning application forms (1-App), which are available to download from this website.   Alternatively, you can apply online via the planning portal.

Applications should be accompanied by information that, as a minimum, meets national requirements.  In addition, we have adopted a local list of information required to validate an application.

Our local list identifies information that may be required with your application.  Most applications are likely to require only some of the supporting information listed, depending on the nature and location of what is proposed.  There are explanations of what each of the different types of information relate to and links to specific guidance on the requirements, background information and reference sources.

Check-lists will shortly be available, setting out what information is generally required with different types of applications.  The check-lists and details of information are designed to help you submit an application which can be formally registered when we receive it.  If we are not able to register your application, we will contact you and let you know what needs to be done so we can register it.
