Aylesbury Vale District Local Plan (AVDLP)
From 27 September 2007, planning applications are being determined against a revised policy framework, as some Aylesbury Vale District Local Plan (AVDLP) policies no longer apply. Follow the link below for further details of the revised policy framework.
The local plan forms part of the development plan and shows our policies and proposals for the use of land and buildings. Other parts of the development plan (the minerals local plan and the waste local plan) are produced by Bucks County Council. Follow this link to see Bucks County Council strategic plans page. AVDLP was adopted in January 2004. It is used by our development control officers when determining planning applications. Applications have to be in line with the policies and proposals contained in the development plan.
After 27 September 2007, legislation meant that policies in AVDLP ceased to have effect unless 'saved' by a Direction from the Secretary of State. The purpose of this was to ensure that local planning authorities brought forward their local development frameworks quickly. AVDLP comprises of written text, conservation area maps and proposal maps. A full copy of the written text can be found as the first PDF of this page. This contains all policies and identifies saved polices as well as those that are unsaved. This page also contains a copy of individual chapters from the plan, but these do not indicate if the policy is saved or not.The conservation area maps and proposals maps can be accessed by following the links on the left.

Paper copies of the plan can be purchased for £60 plus £5.75 postage and packaging, or alternatively, a CD rom version is available at £30 plus £0.95p postage and packaging.
Reference copies of the local plan are available at the Customer Services Centre, 66 High Street, Aylesbury, at the Buckingham and Winslow area offices and at libraries in Aylesbury Vale.
