Strategic Flood Risk Assessment - Level 1

The level 1 strategic flood risk assessment (SFRA) has been carried out to provide a robust assessment of the extent and nature of the risk of flooding and its implications for the local development framework.

The SFRA includes a set of flood zone maps providing an overall view of flood risk areas for strategic planning purposes.

The report identifies areas at risk from flooding in the district, based upon a detailed assessment of flood prevention and water storage facilities, and outlines the implications for land use planning.

Figures 1-9 show the study area, a geological map, a committed and proposed development sites map and the area flood maps.

Figures 10-15 shows the historic maps, figure 16 shows the data extent map and figures 17-22 show the hydraulic structure flood maps.

The rest of district preliminary flood risk screening study identifies flood zones, flood events, defences and implications for new  housing at settlements identified for growth in the emerging core strategy. It is available to download below.
