AVLDF issues and options stage

On the 8th September 2010 the Council will be considering a recommendation to withdraw the Core Strategy from the examination process (subject to Secretary of State Direction); this report will be available from 26th August 2010. Please see the Core Strategy – Current Position webpage for the latest information.

The local development framework (LDF) will ultimately replace the current local plan. Unlike the local plan, it will comprise a number of separate documents. The first of these is the statement of community involvement, which was adopted in October 2006.

Two stages of consultation have now taken place on the first planning policy documents within the LDF. These documents are:

  • The core strategy which will set out the overall strategy for development in the district, including the broad location for the proposed growth.
  • The Aylesbury allocated sites document which will identify actual locations for new development in and around Aylesbury. Please note that this document is no longer being prepared. The allocations at Aylesbury will now either be made in the core strategy or in the single allocated sites document.

The first consultation stage for both these documents took place in summer 2006 and looked at 'issues and options', i.e. the key issues and options facing the district and Aylesbury town.

We have produced two feedback reports on the issues and options consultation:

1) Report of Comments Received

This reports responses to the 19 questions posed in the issues and options consultation booklet. It presents overall findings for each question, with sample comments to show the range of issues raised by respondents.

2) Report of Effectiveness of Consultation

This reports the way in which the issues and options consultation itself was carried out, and its effectiveness. Action points are identified to be taken into account in future consultations.

Both reports are available to download below, along with the issues and options booklet and questionnaire.
