Core Strategy Examination - Updated July 2010
The core strategy for Aylesbury Vale district was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 30 October 2009. Mr Geoff Salter BA MRTPI from the Planning Inspectorate is conducting the examination into the core strategy. The hearing sessions took place commencing in February 2010 and finished on Thursday 1 April 2010. The hearing sessions have now closed and an interim statement from the Inspector was published on the 11 June 2010. Following the revocation of the Regional Spatial Strategy (South East Plan), on the 6th July, the Council is considering its impact on the Core Strategy. The Council has responded to the Inspector. PRE-HEARING MEETING
The pre-hearing meeting (PHM) took place on Thursday 17 December 2009 and the notes from the meeting are available to download below. During the pre-hearing meeting, a revised proposed running order for the hearing sessions was agreed and as a result, a revised draft issues for the hearing programme was prepared. EXAMINATION HEARING SESSIONS
The hearing sessions commenced on Tuesday 2 February 2010, and finished on Thursday 1 April 2010. The hearing sessions took place in the Civic Centre over the course of this period covering a wide range of issues from the growth arc at Aylesbury, viability and infrastructure to affordable housing. The hearing sessions have now closed.
For each of the hearing sessions a more detailed agenda was produced and written statements submitted. The core document list can also be accessed on the left as can the schedule of proposed changes produced at submission stage, and subsequent changes supported by the Council during the examination in public.
NEXT STEPS
The examination remains open until the Inspector produces his binding report. A preliminary statement from the Inspector was issued on 11 June 2010 and can be downloaded below. Following any outcome from the Inspectors interim statement, the Inspector will produce his binding report. The Council will then be able to publish and adopt the final core strategy, subject to any amendments.
