Supplementary planning documents
Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide additional detail on issues that need amplification. They are not subject to independent examination as development plan documents are, but they are subject to similar processes in terms of consultation and adoption.
We intend to produce the following SPDs:
· Master Planning and Delivery – Aylesbury Growth Arc: this document will set out a framework for delivering the main elements of the development, including infrastructure requirements and a masterplan for the site.
· Master Planning and Delivery – North East Aylesbury Vale: this document will set out a framework for delivering the main elements of the development, including infrastructure requirements and a masterplan for the site.
· Conservation Areas: this will set out additional interpretation of development control policies and our methodology for conservation area appraisal/designation, management statements and additional guidance on managing development in conservation areas.
The three SPDs above will be published for consultation in January / February 2010. They will be adopted in autumn 2010 after the core strategy is adopted.
We also intend to produce the following SPDs at a later date (timetable to be confirmed):
- Landscape Management: this will provide detailed guidance on the implementation of policies in the proposed submission core strategy on conserving and enhancing landscape character.
- Affordable Housing (review): this will review the existing affordable housing SPD (2007) in the light of revised policies in the proposed submission core strategy.
- Developer Contributions: this will address physical and social infrastructure requirements of new developments across the whole district and set out a framework for obtaining developer contributions for areas outside of the strategic housing allocations in the core strategy. Once adopted, this will supersede our current developer contributions regime.
