Proposed submission core strategy: interim sustainability appraisal (March 2009)
On the 8th September 2010 the Council will be considering a recommendation to withdraw the Core Strategy from the examination process (subject to Secretary of State Direction); this report will be available from 26th August 2010. This is an interim sustainability appraisal and strategic environmental assessment (SA/SEA) to accompany the proposed submission interim core strategy document that was considered by the environment scrutiny committee in March 2009. Following this meeting, the environment scrutiny committee made recommendations for amendments to both the interim SA/SEA and proposed submission interim core strategy. Both the SA/SEA and the proposed submission core strategy have changed as a result of these recommendations, prior to going to cabinet and council meetings in April/May 2009. The revised SA/SEA and proposed submission core strategy has now been published prior to these meetings. The final SA/SEA and submission core strategy will then be published for comment in June 2009.
The interim SA/SEA is made up of 3 documents: the main report, Appendix 2 and Appendix 4.
Appendix 1 is the scoping report that was undertaken at the outset of the production of the core strategy and in advance of the first sustainability appraisal of the core strategy. This report can be viewed or downloaded from the sustainability appraisal scoping report page to the left.
Appendix 3 is the sustainability appraisal report for the Preferred Options Sustainability Appraisal June 2007 (Carter Jonas). This report is made up of two parts The Core strategy and Final SA and Aylesbury Allocated Sites Final SA.
