What documents will be produced?

We are developing a new planning policy document for the district called The Vale of Aylesbury Plan. The plan will set out a strategy for growth for the district to 2031. The following page sets out the documents that will be published as part of this process.

Newsletters - A series of newsletters will be produced to keep communities up to date with how The Vale of Aylesbury Plan is developing. These will be available on the website and sent directly to parishes. Please follow the link on the left to download the latest newsletter.

Fact Packs - As part of the process of engaging with communities, we will be producing a number of fact packs for some of the more sustainable villages and towns across the district. These will include information such as :

• How many people are on the housing waiting list in the community
• What are the planning constraints around the villages and towns
• What we know about infrastructure capacity
• What employment, housing and other plans are present

For more detailed information on fact pacts please follow the link on the left.

Compiling this information is a very first step in the process of developing a bottom up view – but it is an important stage in the process. Once these are published, they will also be available to download from this page and will be sent directly to communities for comment. These fact pacts will aid town and parish councils in producing new/reviewed parish plans and new community-led plans.

Moving forward, responses to the fact packs, as well as proposals in reviewed parish and new community-led plans will feed into the overarching planning policy document, The Vale of Aylesbury Plan. The council will prepare this document once the formal arrangements for Localism are put in place by the coalition government (the Localism Act received Royal Assent  on 15 November 2011, but it will take time for different parts of the Act to come into effect).

Please follow the links to the left for further information relating to The Vale of Aylesbury Plan.
