Toolkit for consulting your community
The neighbourhood planning consultation toolkit has been produced to help parish and town councils engage with their community on what future development they would like to see over the next twenty years. The toolkit is available to download below.
It has been developed jointly by our Planning and Marketing & Communications teams, alongside a number of parish and town councils.
The toolkit is not a prescription of how to do things, but rather a collection of suggestions, hints and tips that might be helpful when identifying how to undertake community engagement.
The toolkit covers :
• how to prepare for consultation
• different ways of getting input from the communty
• producing a checklist for developing questionnaires
• an introduction to software that can help you analyse consultations
The toolkit also has examples of how you might write more difficult questions such as, what level of development your community might want, and what form that should take e.g. densities and location of development.
