What to do if your car is locked in to one of our car parks.
We currently lock two of our car parks, Hampden House and Friarscroft.
Hampden House is open at 7am and is locked shut at 8pm and Friarscroft opens at 6.30am and is locked shut at 8.30pm.
Unfortunately drivers occasionally return to their vehicle late to find that our car park has been locked and they are unable to gain access to their car. We employ standby officers to deal with these types of situation and by calling 07785 705766 you can talk to the council's duty officer, who will in turn contact a Parking Services officer who will come and release you.
You should be aware that a call out can take up to 1 hour and a charge of £50* will be made, the officer will take your details when they arrive to let you out and will arrange for an invoice to be sent to you at a later date.
*This is with the exception of the Upper Hundreds and Walton Street pay on foot car parks where a release fee of £75 will be charged, this includes a £25 lost card fee.
