Residents parking permit

Are you entitled to a resident’s permit?

You are entitled to apply for a resident parking permit if:

  • You live within the permit zone.
  • You live at the address stated on your permit application form (you are not entitled to a permit if the property is not your normal home, regardless of your interest in the property).
  • Your vehicle is not over 2.3 metres high or 5.3 metres long.
  • You own or keep the vehicle to which the permit application relates.

If the vehicle to which the application relates is a company or leased vehicle and is registered at an address other than your home address you will need to provide appropriate documents to prove that the vehicle is in your charge.

A permit is only valid if the vehicle in which it is displayed also displays a valid road tax disc.

We have the right to refuse a permit application and to cancel an existing permit.

How to apply for a resident’s permit

An application for a resident parking permit must be made using the Resident’s parking permit application form.  Downloadable document at bottom of page.

Applications must be sent by post or personally delivered to our offices (an application cannot be processed while you wait).

  • The application form must be completed using capital letters and written in ink.
  • You must include the required supporting documentation (otherwise the form will be returned to you).
  • Photocopies of supporting documentation must be clear and easy to read (if the photocopy is considered unsuitable you will be asked to provide the original document).
  • Your application must be accompanied by a cheque for the appropriate value (a resident parking permit is £52 per vehicle per year). Cheques should be made payable to Aylesbury Vale District Council.

Post your application form, supporting documentation and cheque to:
