The 2009 awards were presented by Councillor Janet Blake, Chairman of the Council. The ceremony was sponsored by Waddesdon, AVA, HS&P and Savills.

The Bourg Walk and Station Boulevard, Aylesbury

Winner for Outstanding Design

These schemes together were an impressive design solution that improves access to central Aylesbury from the railway station and Southcourt. The projects were designed by Jacobs and built by Birse Civils for Buckinghamshire County Council.

Bourg Walk Bridge

Boycott Farm Shop, Stowe

Commended as a good renovation of a redundant agricultural building to a successful rural business use.

This Grade II, stone built, listed barn has been sympathetically converted to a farm shop, tea room and kitchen.

Old Barn Cottage, Haddenham

Commended for a combination of building and garden design which has created a very strong and memorable sense of place.

The existing witchert barn was partially rebuilt and extended to provide an annex to the main house and the surrounding garden was redesigned.

Old Barn Cottage

Church View, Padbury

Commended as a good small development in a village setting. 

A new development of four new houses and a barn conversion in a sensitive location close to the village church. The development has good traditionally shaped buildings and excellent materials and detailing.

The historic fabric of this grade II listed 1887 ‘Rothschild’ summer pavilion has been carefully and expertly restored to the building.
