Aylesbury Whizzfizzing Festival - Inspired by Roald Dahl

Don’t miss out! Tickets are now available for a range of exciting workshops, including some hosted by famous faces, at Aylesbury’s Whizzfizzing Festival - inspired by Roald Dahl, taking place on Saturday 1 July.

The workshops will be part of a spectacular day packed with amazing activities and include sessions hosted by Cbeebies’ Katy Ashworth who will be pitching up in her Concoction Kitchen to woo fans with her deliciously crazy creations.

Former comedian turned children’s author, Julian Clary, along with a host of other writers, will also be delivering a range of workshops as they share the secrets of their success and give fans an insight into what makes their characters tick. Prices for these workshops start from £3.

The day itself, formerly known as the Roald Dahl Festival, will be a spectacular celebration of children’s literature and is free to attend. Activities will kick off at 11am in Aylesbury’s Market Square with a dazzling giant puppet parade, created under this year’s theme of fantastical creatures and will feature more than 600 local school children. There will also be a Tiger Who Came to Tea-themed afternoon tea in the Bucks County Museum, Roald Dahl films in The Works Cinema in the old Court House, face-painting in a giant peach, a fancy dress competition, a crazy hair show, live music, arts and crafts, with much more still to be announced.

Last year the event attracted more than 6,000 people and this year promises to be bigger, better and more effervescent than ever.
