Community Chest

AVDC and the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust together set aside up to £500,000 a year from 2007-2017 to fund projects aimed at improving the quality of life of our residents.

Projects had to contribute to at least one of the priorities:

  • stronger communities
  • safer communities
  • thriving economy
  • sustainable environment
  • health and wellbeing

Who could apply?

Eligible groups included:

  • charities
  • clubs
  • societies
  • associations
  • parish councils
  • community interest companies
  • social enterprises

Applicants had to be formally constituted, not-for-profit and operate within Aylesbury Vale, providing facilities, activities or services for the benefit of people living, working in or visiting the Vale.

  • Final grants were awarded in January 2017.
  • A list of all grants awarded in 2016-17 and the final annual report can be downloaded below.
  • Over the ten-year funding period, £4.7m was awarded to local projects through 780 grants.
