Community is at the heart of the garden communities philosophy. Our Masterplan presents what is possible for the Aylesbury Garden Town area and identifies eight guiding aims and principles that we believe will create a vibrant and thriving community that is green, healthy, productive and accessible and a place that is simple a great place to be. The design principles of garden communities place a firm focus on creating self-contained communities surrounded by green infrastructure and comprising residential and commercial areas. Active and healthy lifestyles are encouraged through walking, cycling and public transport designed to be the most attractive forms for local journeys.
Community ownership of land and community long-term stewardship of assets is one of the garden communities nine key principles and several successful community projects are already making a difference to the lives of Aylesbury residents.
