Planning permission may be granted subject to conditions requiring a further application to approve the details of something that was not fully described in the application, for example what type of bricks or roofing materials you intend to use.
Applications to discharge conditions must usually be approved before work commences – the original planning permission will make it clear if this is not the case.
Remove or change a planning condition

Sometimes circumstances change so that a condition imposed at the time permission was granted is no longer necessary. You can apply to remove or vary a condition where
- you wish to carry out the approved development without complying with a condition previously imposed
- retrospective permission is needed for development that has been already carried out without complying with a planning condition imposed on original decision
