Grants for the Voluntary and Community Sector

Grants for the Voluntary and Community Sector
The Council’s grants scheme for voluntary and community sector funding is now closed to applications.
In light of the unitary decision, and to give local charities some financial stability during this period of change, the Joint Informal Grants Panel met for the final time in November to consider applications for one year core funding from 1 April 2020.

The Panel recommended grant support totalling £118,510 – the full budget available - to 13 VCS organisations. The recommendations now have to go through the council’s formal decision making process. A spreadsheet of successful applications and the level of grant funding awarded will be uploaded when the recommendations have been confirmed.

AVDC Cabinet has already agreed to a two year extension to the three year grant agreements with the following four organisations: Citizens Advice Aylesbury Vale, Aylesbury Homeless Action Group, Queens Park Arts Centre and Aylesbury Women’s Aid. These grants will help to support their core running costs until the end of March 2022. Funding will also support the continuation of the Countywide Infrastructure Contract until it is re-commissioned in September 2020.

In total AVDC will have committed over £550,000 in grant funding in 2020/2021 to support the vital services provided by the local voluntary and community sector. This funding will be honoured by the new Buckinghamshire Council.

New arrangements for the management and allocation or funding will be put in place by the new Buckinghamshire Council from 1 April 2020.
