Isabel Edgar Briancon believes in never doing things by halves and thrives when things change. She brought her passion to AVDC ten years ago and found a small group of like-minded people that believed local government could be different. Isabel has since been a key member of that small group who have transformed AVDC's culture from the traditional town hall ethos into an entrepreneurial and commercial organisation.
Prior to life at AVDC, Isabel worked as a web developer, then a recycling officer at Dacorum Borough Council, followed by a move to AVDC as Strategic Operations Service Manager. In this role Isabel worked extensively in the recycling and waste sector, including Streetscene and delivering fundamental new services, culture change and enhanced working practises for crews. Her proudest moment was securing £9 million of funding to build major new infrastructure for the operational and commercial services of the future.
Now as Assistant Director with responsibility for Business Support and Enablement, she is getting stuck in alongside the Corporate Team to lead from the front, embed the new commercial culture framework and 'be the change' that local government needs.
