Landlord loans

What can the loan be used for?

Landlord loans are available to help landlords make their properties safe. The loans can be used to help fix any problems in a rented property that have been identified as a Category 1 or Category 2 hazard under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). In practice this means that the loan can be used to address most issues in a property that could affect the occupants health, safety or welfare.

Landlords meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for a loan of up to a maximum of £10,000. The loan can be paid back monthly over a 5 year period and is subject to a low interest rate. Alternatively any outstanding balance can be paid back in full during the loan period.
