As part of a consortium, Aylesbury Vale District Council’s (AVDC) Building Control team has won an award for ‘Best Small Commercial Project’ at the Grand Final of the 2017 LABC Building Excellence Awards.
The winning project, which was chosen from a shortlist of 12, was the design and building of Pochard Fishing Lodge, which is located in Great Brickhill, Milton Keynes.
The consortium members consisted of:
• Julian P King (architect)
• Chestnut Morgan (building construction)
• AVDC Building Control (planning and building support)
• Pochard Fishing Lake (landowner and developer)
The judges were impressed by the project team’s excellent choice of materials and superb attention to detail.
Adam Heeley, AVDC’s Building Control & Access Manager, said: “It’s incredibly satisfying to win this acclaimed award from the LABC. The Building Control team members are thrilled by the win, and it’s great to have our work nationally recognised.”
The Grand Final of the 2017 LABC Building Excellence Awards took place on Friday 10 November at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.
