Aylesbury Vale District Council is looking forward to taking to the road again this summer, to meet local residents while letting them know about the exciting work the authority is doing.
Following last year’s successful roadshow, the brightly coloured AVDC marquee will be pitching up at fourteen popular events across the Vale. Officers will be promoting the council’s latest ventures including Vale Lottery and its pioneering new digital work, as well as talking all things recycling and much more. Staff will also be on hand to explain how the authority’s commercial approach is working to manage cuts from central government. And, of course, there will be plenty of fun activities for the kids and some fantastic prize draws.
The events will provide the opportunity to talk to Aylesbury Vale Residents and hear first-hand feedback on the council’s services, as well as finding out what new services they might like to see in the future.
AVDC is the first council to trial Artificial Intelligence, through Amazon Echo technology, and this will be an exciting feature on the stand. ‘Ask Alexa’ demonstrations will show how customer experiences with AVDC have the potential to be transformed in the future.
Andrew Small, Director at AVDC said: “We are really looking forward to getting out and about around the Vale and meeting the residents we work for. There’s so much innovation and change going on at AVDC – this has helped to save around £16 million over the last seven years and is helping to generate new income which is being reinvested into key services. Last year’s roadshow was enjoyed by all, so we can’t wait to do it all again.”
