Don’t “miss the boat” this Saturday at Aylesbury’s Waterside Festival!

Watch Aylesbury’s canal side burst into colour, entertainment and music as the town welcomes the return of the fantastic family-friendly Waterside Festival this Saturday 14 September, 11am-5.30pm.


Co-ordinated by Aylesbury Town Centre Partnership and proudly sponsored by Aylesbury Garden Town, there really is something for everyone at this year’s free-to-enter Waterside Festival. Take to free canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding sessions like a fish to water, fall hook, line and sinker for free Let’s Fish fishing sessions, or go with the flow as you enjoy a leisurely canal trip aboard Aylesbury’s very own The Little Trip Boat. And that’s not all...


Building on the success of last year, the Roving Canal Traders Association (RCTA) will be helping festival-goers enjoy a bigger and better selection of stalls, brought to Waterside Festival by a range of talented and friendly traders. The fantastic traders will be selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to spoons, buttons, purses, semi-precious tumble stones and geodes, herbs and spices, prints and cards, leather goods, preserves, gins, cakes, art and pottery, handmade bags, fair trade clothing and other vintage curiosities! Moored at the Waterside canal basin from Friday 13 September to Sunday 15 September, there’s plenty of time to browse the unique gifts on offer during, before and after the excitement of Saturday’s Waterside Festival!


Festival-goers are also invited to escape and take part in amazing wildlife activities including pond-dipping and nature trails or indulge in the delicious delights of Waterside Festival’s food court. Don’t miss out on the diverse mix of dance, music and theatre stage performances, launched this year by Paralympian Derek Derenalagi, and be sure to check out the selection of partner stalls and activities for a plethora of arts and crafts, children’s games, competitions and prize draws.


Set off on your own two-wheels, or a hire a bike from Otec Bikes, to explore Aylesbury’s waterway sand the surrounding countryside but be sure to return in time to cash in on the fabulous deals being offered by nearby establishments including; The Snug, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and The Craftyard. A jam-packed day and evening awaits all visitors, so come and join all the fun!
