On Wednesday 2 August families from across Aylesbury Vale descended on Vale Park, Aylesbury, for a fun-filled day at Play in the Park.
Despite the great British weather, spirits weren’t dampened and thousands of local children and their families enjoyed the fun activities on offer.
Organised by Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) to celebrate the national day for play, the event included a range of activities such as bouncy castles, go-karts, a giant sand pit, drumming, arts and crafts and a climbing wall. Plus there was Colonel Custard and his circus skills, an animal corner complete with micro pigs and an appearance from Bucks Fire and Rescue with a fire engine.
Cllr Angela Macpherson, AVDC Cabinet Member for Communities, commented: “Play is an extremely important part of a child’s development and the great range of activities on offer gave the children the opportunity to play and be creative to their heart’s content. Thank you to everyone who took part and we hope you enjoyed it!”
