The protected species procedure

The protected species procedure sets out how we handle planning applications to make sure that protected species are properly taken into account in planning decisions.

Wildlife sites project

Local wildlife sites are important wildlife areas. The wildlife sites project surveys these areas to record their flora and fauna and then provides advice and management plans based on the data.

Well-known sites that have benefited from the wildlife sites project include:

  • Snakesmoor Nature Reserve, Haddenham
  • Brill Common
  • Glebe Fields Nature Reserve, Stewkley
