In 2000 we started reviewing our conservation areas and have completed the reviews as listed at the bottom of this page; click on the name to go to the web page about each conservation area.
We are currently reviewing the Mentmore Conservation Area.
The draft Mentmore Conservation Area boundary and appraisal document are currently out for public consultation. The consultation will last from Monday 16th September until Friday 8th November 2019.
A map of the proposed Mentmore conservation area boundary changes, the draft Mentmore Conservation Area Appraisal document (please note this is a large document and may take time to open) and a leaflet giving general information about conservation areas are available below:
If you have any questions or would like to comment about the appraisal document or proposed boundary, please do so in writing, either by email to Freya Morris or write to
Conservation Areas Officer
Aylesbury Vale District Council
We need to receive your comments by Friday 8th November 2019
Also available to download are the following documents which provide a detailed analysis of the nationally important Mentmore Towers, its grounds and setting within the wider landscape. These documents are not subject to public consultation, but do provide fascinating background information on Mentmore Towers, its landscape and setting and support the draft Conservation Area appraisal and proposed boundary alterations.
