Sophie Christiansen CBE -

Para-equestrian Dressage rider

School trips to her local RDA centre inspired Sophie to start riding at aged six. At 16, Sophie competed at her first major international competition - the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games. Since then, she has competed in four successive Paralympic Games and is currently an eight-time Paralympic champion with multiple World and European titles. She recently came fifth in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year after a very successful year for British sport, also mirrored by her being awarded a CBE in the 2017 New Year Honours List for services to para-equestrianism.
