Aylesbury’s Whizzfizzing Festival is the new incarnation of the Roald Dahl Festival, which has been enjoyed by thousands of families from the Vale and beyond, for years. Whizzfizz is a celebration of everything children’s literature and will be packed with new features and activities as well as some rather famous faces!
Whizzfizz is happening on July 1 and is aimed at children and families. It has all the old favourites such as the giant puppet parade, music and craft but much, much more besides. Activities will kick off at 11am with a dazzling parade, created under this year’s theme of Fantastical Creatures and will feature more than 600 local school children.
There will also be interactive workshops with big-name authors, plus a Tiger Who Came to Tea-themed afternoon tea, Roald Dahl films on show, face-painting in a giant peach, a fancy dress competition, storytelling, a crazy hair show, live music and arts and crafts. Last year the event attracted more than 6,000 people and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
